Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has welcomed this week’s eviction of the professional protesters that had been camping outside of St Paul’s since October last year.
Mike has condemned the campers in a number of articles in the Daily Express and Time Out. In his articles, Mike highlighted that camping protests are anti-social, foster division among the public and detract from people engaging in genuine protests.
Commenting, Mike said: “While I am pleased that the campers have finally been evicted, it is four months too late. A protest like this should never have been allowed to happen. The police must do more to crack down on this anti-social form of protest that plagued by people who have nothing constructive to add to the debate. These professional protesters ruin things for anybody else who genuinely wishes to take a stand on a serious issue.”
