Parliamentary Motion Against Use of Stray Animals for Experiments Signed by Mike

Mike has signed a Parliamentary Motion to stop stray animals being used in experiments.

Early Day Motion 193 highlights the repeal of the ban on experiments on stray cats and dogs and calls for a Parliamentary Debate on the issue. Mike is a strong supporter of animal welfare. He has consistently voted in favour of animal rights and has supported a number of campaigns for better treatment of animals in the UK.

Commenting, Mike said: “Allowing experiments on stray animals is completely unacceptable and highly insensitive. It would be incredibly distressing for someone to learn that their missing cat or dog been taken away and is now the subject of experiments. Lawmakers must continue to support issues of animal welfare to ensure that we do not go back on the improvements that we have pledged to make.”
