Mike Encourages Residents to Wear it Pink?

Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is encouraging residents to take park in the 10th Wear it Pink awareness day to help fund cancer research.

Every year in the UK, around 48,000 women and 340 men are diagnosed with breast cancer. Now in its 10th year, Wear it Pink will see supporters from all over the country in schools, colleges, universities and businesses embracing the event’s new theme – superheroes – on Friday 26th October. For more information, visit www.wearitpink.co.uk.

Breast Cancer Campaign is asking everyone to put on something pink and donate £2. Whether it’s a superhero cape, pink socks or pink pants that is worn over tights, by taking part in this year’s event participants will help Breast Cancer Campaign to achieve its target of raising £2 million, so that it can continue to fund ground-breaking research. Commenting, Mike said: “Wear it Pink is a great way to boost cancer awareness and help raise funds for important research. It was useful to discuss with representatives from the Breast Cancer Campaign in Parliament the fundraising work that they do throughout the year and how campaigns such as Wear it Pink make up a big part of their donations.”
