Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has met with bosses of the family-run local bakeries, Forfars, which has fed residents across Sussex for generations.
Mike recently visited Tim Cutress, Managing Director of Forfars, whose family has been running Forfars Bakers for over 75 years, at one of his shops in Hove. Tim and Mike discussed business generally which led to Mike promising to write to his colleagues in Government about changes in taxation as well as to raise local parking problems with Brighton & Hove City Council.
Commenting, Mike said: “My constituency office is right by Forfars which is incredibly convenient, and sometimes a temptation that I just cannot resist. Tim raised a number of issues that are affecting his business, including stringent parking rules that mean customers are not able just to pop in to a shop for 5 minutes, so I have written to the council about the matter.”
